My Inspiration is the Impressionists this week I think...

Van Gogh described The Church at Auvers 
in a letter to his sister as "A large painting of the village church, executed so that the building appears purplish against a sky which is the deep and simple blue of pure cobalt; the windows seem stained with ultramarine; the roof is part violet, part orange. In front, there are flowers growing in the grass and some sunny, pink sand." 

Van Gogh and Monet are my favorite impressionists, I've already showed examples of Monets Rouen Cathedral but heres another because I love them so much.





I think studying the Churches in Limerick as an urban environment is a good point to focus on in this stage of my project because Churches are an important part of any urban environment especially Limerick as it has so many, and also they are steeped in History and atmosphere which I find very interesting. I want to focus on their form and tone rather than the architecture, although I find that interesting too.
