PRINTMAKING.
Just a quick update while I have time in the library. Its Monday afternoon and I've just finished the first day of print we just had introductions to stuff. Des showed us how to do the basics for Mono and dry point print. I went into town and invested in a scriber so I won't have to borrow one and I also took a few photos of an alley way off Williams street I think it might be a good source to start with. The project is on "space". I've copyed and pasted a taste of the brief below...
I've started researching some artists for my contextual as well. I'm finding the artists I went to see in Berlin very useful now! eg. Picasso, Warhol and Rauchenburg to name a few :)
Really interrested in Jean Michelle Basquait and his cooberation with Andy Warhol in the 1980's. Heres a few images that caught my eye...

Printmaking.
SPACE AROUND US.
Mediums: Monoprint and Drypoint.
Employing the processes of drypoint and monoprint, or a combination of both, you will explore the nature of space in your immediate environment. The aim is to develop an understanding of composition and to visually explore the possibilities through print.
It is desirable that you incorporate some of the discoveries you have made in your Semester 1 project work within this elective. This should allow you to explore and further develop some of the concepts from the first semester or to use some of the approaches and techniques learned in the last project in order to develop new ideas.

Tonight I'll start on a few drawings and tomorrow probably start etching onto the acetate.
